Two weeks-and-a-day after the Two Tunnels official opening we’re holding our own community cycling event for beginners, families, little kids on balance bikes, grannies on ancient roadsters, you name it. 4 miles there, 4 miles back, there’s a pub at Midford. The A4 pdf to download is here if you wouldn’t mind mind posting it on an actual wall
Poster by the amazing Jim Clarkson
Ace Eliza Southwood poster for the Two Tunnels Greenway Festival & Opening. There’s an A4 PDF version to download here
Cripes! Check out those labels. Think I’ll be getting me some of these for my Claud Butler project. This time last year I wondered if I would get it finished in 2012. Won’t say the same for 2013
Lovely by Jo. Well, maybe not lovely but true. I’m having a bit of an ‘authenticity’ day
Fausto Coppi and cycling-related art; two themes always good to see in the same subject. Grateful to Velorunner for the intro to Stefan Bumbeck
Patches sewn into the Sky riders’ Rapha kit. Lovely touch
Couldn’t resist taking a peek at the Combe Down Tunnel entrance yesterday and today Sustrans posted a picture of the completed route from the inside. The Two Tunnels Greenway is getting tantalisingly close.
2013 Team Columbia Edition of the Wilier Triestina Twinblade, due to debut in the Team Time Trial second stage of the Tour of the Mediterranean February 7th. According to their press release, Team Columbia seem to have dubbed themselves the Escarabajos which the dictionary says is either a black beetle - possibly even a dung beetle - or the nickname for a “thick, short, ill-shaped person.” It’s fair to say that second-division Team Columbia is better known for its climbers than its time triallists so this may be the only time you see this colour combo on a Twinblade unless you go and stake out the forthcoming Giro d’Italia yourself - which is not a bad idea. With the horrendous mountain stages coming in both the Giro in May and later Vuelta a EspaƱa, the lightweight and almost 100% Columbian team riders can afford to have a bit of a laugh at their own small stature as they romp away from the big lads.
In Los Angeles, apparently. Sorry I don’t know whose picture
